Quote

"I was right away enthusiastic about the integration with Microsoft Outlook. While testing with my staff I recognized the easy-use of the software and how quickly my project managers could record the actual time spent. I saw how easy document storing was with InLoox. There was no doubt about it: the World Cup project would be done with InLoox."

InLoox project management at the 2006 World Cup

Messe-Pro has been planning, organizing and implementing unique trade fair stands for over fifteen years. The Wetzlar-based company persecutes a policy of integrated service: the customer receives all services, starting with the initial design and continuing through planning and building to logistics from one source. There are many challenges: creativity, planning, technical aspects and practical skills are no less important than scheduling and cost management. Messe-Pro is set for expansion and allows for economic growth with InLoox.

Background

Trade fair specialists Messe-Pro were selected to create the press accommodation for the print media's reporters in all 12 stadiums where matches were to be played in the forthcoming 2006 World Cup in Germany. Included was building the press boxes in the grandstands, designing the press rooms in marquees, fitting out the journalists' offices, installing lounges, beer gardens and catering zones.

A total amount of 160 specialists were engaged in the project countrywide to ensure the work being carried out simultaneously in the various stadiums, both professionally and on time. The time frame is always set out precisely, however unexpected changes to the project occur almost every day and need a prompt reaction from all persons concerned. The requirements of communication and project planning could no longer be met with the existing technologies.

The Project

Jörg Becker, general manager at Messe-Pro, had to act quickly to find a project management system that could support the more severe requirements efficiently. Planning had to be detailed and at the same time it had to be possible to modify the planning and the allocation of resources as needed and without delay. The solution was found with InLoox.

"Because of a cramped schedule, testing phase had to be kept very short. And yet we went on operation over night. I'd had to act quickly but I was willing to put my trust in InLoox." These were Jörg Becker's reasons for his decision. The InLoox Workgroup Edition is being used for both project management and project accounting. For project managers InLoox provides the necessary transparency and reliability. The accountants are able to charge all activities precisely and on time according to project status.

The positive business trends at Messe-Pro and the success of project management with InLoox made it possible to install additional clients as early as summer 2006.
